Lia Moskov started Children Without Frontiers in 2024 as a sixth-form student in London, and established it as a UK charitable trust in 2025.
The idea came out of a year as fundraising lead with Doctors with Africa CUAMM, one of the longest-standing medical NGOs in sub-Saharan Africa. Raising £2,000+ and working alongside CUAMM's international relations and research teams in Italy showed Lia two things at once: how urgent the needs of vulnerable children abroad are, and how far UK support travels when it is placed in the hands of people who already know their communities.
Rather than build another organisation from scratch, she designed Children Without Frontiers around that insight — back the doctors, teachers and community groups already doing the work, with funding, rigorous governance and a young, energetic network of supporters in the UK.
Since then CWF has raised more than £30,000 for frontline partners: a GoFundMe of over £10,000 for Kuplumussana, a women's HIV-awareness association in Beira; an appeal with CUAMM towards a new ambulance for communities in Cabo Delgado; an art auction for 200+ guests showing work by young local artists; a house fundraiser that raised £3,000 in one evening; and weekly dance classes for 15–20 students, planned and taught by Lia herself.
In May 2026 she spent a field visit in Beira, Mozambique, volunteering daily on the neonatal and paediatric wards of Beira Central Hospital and meeting the youth associations, adolescent health services and women's groups CWF supports.
Lia is a research assistant to Professor Vesselin Popovski on international criminal law and post-conflict accountability, and is writing a research paper on the effects of USAID funding cuts on public healthcare in Sub-Saharan Africa, using Mozambique and her fieldwork in Beira as its central case study. She has interned at the Cayman Islands Government Office in London and with a Member of Parliament at Westminster, and was selected for Yale Young Global Scholars in Politics, Law & Economics.
She is the author of Bodies of the State, a narrative non-fiction book on how states use biology as an instrument of power, and the founder and editor of the youth newsletter Vox Juvenis. In June 2026 she was interviewed about CWF on Godolphin & Latymer's Young Pioneers podcast.
