In May 2026 we travelled to Beira, Mozambique with Doctors with Africa CUAMM — a joint trip with Children Without Frontiers to work alongside our frontline partners and see the programmes your support makes possible.
A few highlights from the visit — though far from everything. Across the trip we moved between health centres, community associations, and the wards of Beira Central Hospital.
We visited the SAAJ — Mozambique's adolescent-friendly health services — and saw how young people are given confidential, youth-focused care designed to meet them where they are.
We met the Youth Association of Andandijra, where young activists promote health activities at the community level. We joined their group events and took part in their advocacy work.
We met and led a discussion with Kuplumussana, a local association of women active in their communities to raise awareness about HIV. They tackle stigma and discrimination head-on, and actively seek out women who have stopped attending the health centre for HIV treatment to bring them back into care.
We made daily visits to Beira Central Hospital, where CUAMM works in the Department of Neonatology and Paediatrics — spending around three hours volunteering on the wards each day.
During our visit we worked alongside a local group doing vital work in their own community. We've set up a GoFundMe to support them directly — every contribution, large or small, makes a difference.

The relationships we built on this trip continue long after we fly home. Your support keeps the programmes — and the partnerships — going.
